Charles Beier, D.D.S.
Doctor of Dental Surgery, University of Minnesota
Neurophysiology, Northwestern University
Dr. Beier, who prefers to be called Charlie – has lived and practiced in Payson since 1995 with his wife Amy. Charlie and Amy essentially moved to Payson on their honeymoon and have never wavered in their loyalty to this small town. Growing up in northern Wisconsin gave Charlie lots of opportunities to learn and appreciate many different walks of life. Charlie graduated with a neurophysiology degree from Northwestern University and went on to graduate with a DDS from the University of Minnesota. He and Amy immediately moved to Payson and the rest is history. Minneapolis straight to Payson takes a little getting used to! Charlie started his own practice in 1997. Charlie and Amy have two daughters and are dog parents to Labs. Charlie plays the saxophone, guitar and piano and enjoys cooking, gardening and hiking. Ethics and honesty are paramount to his philosophy.

Riley Brown
Registered Dental Hygienist
Riley was born and raised in Payson. She graduated from Phoenix College in 2011 with her dental hygiene degree and continued her education, where she received her Master’s in Educational Leadership through Northern Arizona University in 2019. She has worked in General Dentistry and as an educator for Maricopa Community Colleges in the dental hygiene programs. Riley is committed to prioritizing each patient’s overall health, ensuring they feel at ease during routine dental visits, and staying updated on the latest advancements.
Mary Madera
Office Manager
Originally from upstate New York, Mary moved to Arizona in 1994 with her high school sweetheart and 2 children. With over 30 years in the dental field, her favorite part of her job is getting to know her patients on a personal level and helping them achieve optimal oral health and enhance their smiles. It is always a joy to see them satisfied after a visit to the office. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family which includes two beautiful grandchildren. Now residing in Strawberry, her favorite hobby is being in nature with her fur-babies and hiking the beautiful trails.
Trudie Barthen
Registered Dental Hygienist
Trudie was born and raised in Colorado. She has been a dental hygienist for 19 years. She is excited to bring her experience to Dr. Beier’s office and his patients. Her favorite thing about work is taking care of her patients and making sure that they have a pleasant experience. Outside of work, she enjoys trail running, paddle boarding, and working out at the gym. Her favorite place is to be on the beach near the ocean.
Jan Weinberg
Dental Assistant
Jan is a warm, upbeat Dental Assistant originally from Bedford, Pennsylvania. She moved to Arizona in 2011 and has loved building a life in the sunshine ever since. Married and a proud mom of five, she brings the same patience, kindness, and positivity she uses at home into the dental office every day. Her friendly smile, gentle approach, and genuine care help patients feel relaxed and supported from the moment they arrive.
Susi Tomerlin
Dental Assistant
Susi was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Payson in 1997. She loves the feel of Payson, although misses being able to stick her toes in the sand! She became a patient of Dr. Beier in 1997 and fell in love with the office and the atmosphere the employees created. Susi loved it so much that she decided to see what the other side of the dental chair was like and has been a member of the team ever since. She loves working with her patients and the relationships the office forms with them.
Ashley Huff
Office Assistant
Ashley has been in the dental field since 2018. She completed her dental assisting certification at San Joaquin Valley College in California. She also has a 2023 associate’s degree in Health Studies from Carrington College in Mesa, Arizona. Ashley enjoys working with patients and bringing a smile out of anyone she meets. Outside of work, Ashley loves spending time with her family and friends.
